I had a similar experience where I casually brought up to my mom that Apple had announced a new device. She and my dad are apparently very excited by this little wonder device. Computing for everybody is finally here and it’s only going to get better.

Mike Monteiro explains why the iPad is important in The Failure of Empathy. There have been a lot of articles like this, but it’s an important thing to understand that the iPad is the beginning of something big.
I don’t see myself paying for Hulu in its current form just for the pleasure of having it on my iPad.

That the iPhone/iPad OS gets out of the way, let’s us focus on one thing at a time and doesn’t insinuate a constant need to switch contexts is just icing on an already delicious reading cake.
Just hearing there will be a version for the iPad puts a big ol’ smile on my face. It won’t be available at launch:
Simplenote for iPad won’t be available immediately. We’re going to spend some time working with the hardware first to make sure everything flows as expected.
I think that’s the right thing to do.
